Our flagship programme Sacred Vivaldi will present a host of amazing works written for the Pietà including music for soprano, mezzo and female tenor. We plan to feature three quirky instruments – the chalumeau, an Italian viola d’amore and the violin ‘in tromba marina’ – two of which will be researched and commissioned specially ahead of the project.
You can watch a demonstration of our violin ‘in tromba marina’ which was built in 2015 here
. And we aim to tour this musical extravaganza as widely as possible throughout the UK.
No Serenissima birthday would be complete without a recording, so all our fresh research and inspiring sounds will be produced in aural technicolour thanks to our friends at Avie Records. Details of our fundraising campaign for this very special release will be shared soon, but if you just can’t wait, do contact us or donate online.
We will be working to develop our educational programme to include more partnerships with local music hubs, as well as to offer the first ensemble-led workshop package to UK conservatoires.
Of course, none of this work is possible without the generosity of individuals, companies and grant-giving bodies. We are now raising money to support ambitious project costs and essential core funding: to find out how to get involved visit here.
