June News from La Serenissima

2nd July 2022

This month, Adrian has been brushing up on his viola d’amore ahead of La Serenissima’s concert in Lavenham, Suffolk on 6 July.

We will perform Vivaldi’s famous Nisi Dominus RV608 with contralto Hilary Summers for guests of Martin Randall Travel.

In Tune
You can hear Adrian on In Tune where he shared a sizeable preview of Vivaldi’s Women with Katie Derham! The new album is out in August on Signum Records.

Vivaldi & the Mad Monks of Venice postponed

This concert has been unexpectedly postponed at very short notice. This was because the organisers of a certain high profile, large-scale event in Trafalgar Square announced an extension to plans into the evening of 2nd July. This means that noise from outside the church was certain to interfere with audience enjoyment of any concert inside.

This has been a major disappointment to La Serenissima as we have missed a rare opportunity to connect with our audience. We are hugely grateful to everyone who supports us by booking tickets and we wish to emphasise that we would not have postponed the concert if there had been another viable option.

Thanks to the Artist Relief Fund we have at least been able to offer artists some payment for the lost work, for which we are very grateful. It is not known when St Martin’s will be able to re-programme the Mad Monks concert…

Our next London performance is:

St Martin-in-the-Fields

Thursday 29 September @ 7.30pm

The group will be creating a new publicity shot with the help of photographer Lia Vittone in a beautiful private Cotswolds home later this week. If you’d like to support this venture, please contact camilla@laserenissima.co.uk

Best wishes from La Serenissima & thanks to all our Patrons, friends & followers
